SportsBytes: eNewsletter for Sports Administrators
Welcome to the November/December edition of SportsBytes, our online newsletter for sports administrators. We realize this is the time of year that our to-do lists are getting longer as the daylight hours are getting shorter so we'll keep this brief.
We're excited to share that the eMarketing Center, exclusively for Active clients, is sporting a whole new look, including new professionally–designed graphic templates to help you promote and build participation in your sports programs. If you have not already, you really should sign up for your free login today.
A brief reminder that all Active offices will be closed for the holiday season from Saturday, December 19th through Sunday, January 3rd.
We wish everyone a safe, joyous and peaceful holiday season and look forward to working with you in the new year.
As always, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions so please keep them coming by sending an email to ActiveSports@ActiveNetwork.com.
Regards,
ActiveSports Team ActiveSports@ActiveNetwork.com

“First, the technology solutions have increased our exposure. We're now getting our brand and image out into the public through a fresh and continuously updated Website, and a bi-monthly newsletter that drives community members to our Website. Second, the online donation/registration option has helped us grow our support and participant base, as each of our locations are constantly filling up. Third, Active's solutions have helped us centralize our information. Now when customers call, we can almost always direct them to our Website, as all of our information is updated and accessible on our site. Fourth, we're saving staff time on manual, paper-based processes. We still do mailings, but we really save time on collecting information, ensuring the data is accurate, and accessing reports online.” |

Kevin Beatty, Account Executive - Tennis
|
 |
|
I've been with Active for over 2 years now as the enterprise account executive involved with business development for the sports market. I'm responsible for developing technology, marketing, and digital media proposals for clients – primarily within the tennis market. I've designed and conducted several webinars and live presentations on social media strategy for the sports market utilizing networking sites like Ning.com, Facebook, and Twitter. Planning, developing, and executing interactive marketing campaigns through email marketing, event marketing and online advertising are also key components of my day to day job.
I'm passionate about training for triathlons, marathons, and most recently Ironman events. In early November I raced in the 40th Anniversary of the ING New York City Marathon. I ran the race as a fundraising advocate representing the ING Run for Something Better Charity, successfully raising over $2,500 for the non-profit that helps battle childhood obesity. The race was such and unbelievable and memorable event—I've already committed to fundraising for next year's event and plan on recruiting 15 like-minded individuals to complete the 2010 NYC Marathon to raise a $40,000 with me.
The last two books I read were "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown and "Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us" by Seth Odin. They are two incredible books that I absolutely recommend everyone read.
