SportsBytes: eNewsletter for Sports Administrators

Welcome to the second edition of SportsBytes, our online client newsletter for sport administrators, league organizers, board members and staff volunteers.

Last month, we introduced our "Go Green for the Team" discount program offering discounts up to 15%. We're delighted to share that many of you put the challenge to "think green" before your boards, staffs, parents and participants and have committed to 100% online registration for your coming seasons!

Based on the above response, we are pleased to announce the launch of our eMarketing Center designed to provide you with the marketing and promotion tools to help your organization meet your 100% online pledge.

We welcome your feedback on the eMarketing Center as well as the tools and support we provide your organization as your technology and marketing partner of choice.

We look forward to hearing from you.

www.activesports.com

During the 2008 Little League® World Series held August 15-24th, the new Little League Online site received over 4.3 million page views. Built exclusively within the Active Content Manager (ACM) Website platform, the completely custom Website features advanced functionality including Search, Blogs, Countdown Clock, Calendar, Multi-Level Navigation, Digital Asset Gallery and Custom Backdrop.

With point-and-click functionality, similar to those in popular word processing software, the staff at Little League headquarters will be able to easily update and expand the new site without a web master or programming experience.

What do you do?

As an Account Manager, I am responsible for overseeing several of our national client partnerships including Little League Baseball®, the NFL, Pop Warner Football, USA Hockey, and Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball. Each account has different goals, so I am constantly kept on my toes identifying the best Active has to offer whether our technology, sponsorship and marketing opportunities or special partner programs.

One of the best parts of my job is having the chance to meet the kids and parents participating in our clients' championship events like the Little League World Series. From the crowds of people from all parts of the world to the Challenger game for the kids with special needs-it was just an amazing experience! As a sports fan and parent, I'm thrilled to have a job that allows me to take part in a "once in a lifetime" event for so many kids and their parents.

What keeps you busy outside of work?

My seven year old son keeps me extremely busy playing baseball, football and basketball throughout the year. We're always on the go running to practice or to games. However, growing up in a baseball family, it's in our genes! We're huge fans of the New York Mets and we travel to New York at least twice a year to attend games.
